Youth, diversity and Wellbeing in a digital age
Deakin University
Sherene Idriss is a DECRA-Track Research Fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute. Her work examines the everyday lives of migrant young people, vocation and aspirations, youthful consumption and identity practices. Her current research examines the intersections between labour, community, gender and personal style among migrant young women. Sherene is the author of 'Young Migrant Identities: Creativity and Masculinity' (Routledge, 2018). She received her PhD from the Institute of Culture and Society, Western Sydney University.
Her work sits squarely between youth studies and migration studies. She focuses on the ways that categories of youth, gender, social class and personal ambition intersect and play out in ethnic-minority communities within multicultural societies.
