Dr Jessica Walton
Challenging Racisms and Enhancing Social Belonging

Dr Jessica Walton is a Senior Research Fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation (Deakin University). Her research interests focus on racism, anti-racism, identity, intercultural relations and educational equity. Her ARC DECRA project was about South Korean and Australian primary school students’ experiences of online intercultural learning exchanges. She is currently also a chief investigator on an ARC Discovery project about how diasporic young people think about and express their digital citizenship in their everyday social media use (https://youthdigitalcitizenship.com/the-project/).
Jessica’s recent book is published with Routledge and is titled, Korean Adoptees and Transnational Adoption: Embodiment and Emotion.
